Respironics DreamStation Heated Humidifier

Respironics DreamStation Heated Humidifier

The DreamStation Humidifier by Philips Respironics is an accessory for the DreamStation therapy devices to add moisture to your PAP therapy. The amount of humidification is controlled by adjusting the temperature of the heater plate located on your machine.

Adaptive Humidification Mode

One of the most exciting features of the DreamStation Humidifier is the adaptive mode.

You can set the humidifier into "Adaptive" mode to allow the machine to monitor ambient temperature and humidity levels, so the heating levels can be automatically adjusted as needed.

The biggest advantage to using the humidifier in "Adaptive" mode, is it will provide an optimal level of moisture to therapy air while also lowering the chances of condensation building in the hose.

Though if you wish to set the humidification levels yourself, you can choose to leave the humidifier in fixed humidification mode.

Money Saving Dry Box Technology

You may fear that the water tank for the humidifier will leak into the machine and cause costly repairs.

However, to protect patients from this Respironics engineered the DreamStation humidifier with its money saving dry box technology.

In the event that water does manage to escape the water chamber, the dry box will confine it and prevent it from flowing into and damaging the humidifier and CPAP machine.

Heated Tubing

The heated tube is an optional add on that will further enhance the overall quality of your sleep therapy treatment by greatly reducing the occurence of rainout.

Rainout occurs when the temperature of the therapy air being delivered is warmer than outside air, causing condensation to build up in the tube and sometimes the mask.

The heated tube maintains an elevated temperature from machine to mask to ensure you are receiving heated air. Protecting therapy air from being affected by cooler environmental temperatures.

Hose Options

The Respironics DreamStation Heated Humidifier is compatible with 3 hose options: the standard 22 mm hose, a slim 15 mm hose, or the optional slim 15 mm heated hose.

The 3 compatible options allow you to find a tube that meets your personal preference.

How to connect the DreamStation Humidifier to your DreamStation Device

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m Having a Hard Time Adjusting the Heated Humidifier Setting or the Heated Tube Temperature Setting?

Make sure your blower is turned on and the humidifier or heated tube is fully connected, then restart your machine.

The Water in the Water Chamber Runs Out Before Morning?

Make sure your water chamber is full prior to the start of each session. If you’re still running out of water this is a good indication that your mask is experiencing excessive leaks, or the ambient conditions are very dry and cool.

Once you have established that there are no leaks around your mask or your tube, you may also lower your humidifier and/or heated tube settings to change the humidification mode from Fixed to Adaptive humidification mode, which will help increase the time that your humidifier water will last.

I can Hear a Leak or Whistling Sound Coming from my Therapy Device or Humidifier, and I know it’s Not Coming from my Mask. How do I Fix this?

Make sure your PAP Therapy device air inlet is NOT obstructed, filters are clean and installed properly. Make sure your device, humidifier, and tube are connected right.

Confirm that the humidifier lid seal and dry box seal are properly seated; gently press around the perimeter of the seals to reseat them.

I Spilled Water into my Humidifier Basin, What Should I Do?

If you have accidentally filled your water chamber beyond the maximum fill line and water has spilled into the basing of your humidifier, do not be alarmed.

This will not harm your device. Disconnect the power, remove the excess water and try again.
